Pastured Whole Chicken
Chicken is now available for reservation on our "Reserve" page. Pickup will be located at our farm on June 14-15th 2025 (Saturday/Sunday) from 9am-6pm both days.
Chickens will be frozen prior to pickup unless otherwise arranged.
A $5 per bird deposit will be required at ordering. The deposit will be credited to the final purchase price but is otherwise non-refundable.
The processed weight per bird is usually between 5-7 pounds and the cost is $5 per pound.
We start our chicks in a brooder for the first 3 weeks so they have continuous supplemental heat.
After 3 weeks the chicks are fully feathered and move outside into one of our "chicken tractors". A chicken tractor is a portable pen we can move around so the chicks can be on grass while being protected from predators.
As the chickens grow they require being moved onto fresh grass twice daily. The chickens scratch for bugs, dust bathe, and enjoying doing everything that the lighter breeds of chickens do while outside.
At 8 weeks old the meat birds are ready to be butchered. We take great pride in raising our birds with care and respect.
